24/07/2008 WA Construction Blue Card E-Learning Training Now Online

After six months in development, AVELING is proud to announce the release of the WA Construction Blue Card Training course. The course has been specifically developed to meet the needs of WorkSafe, the Training Accreditation Council (TAC), employers and participants to provide a comprehensive and flexible system to raise the awareness of safety issues in the Construction Industry.

The total duration of the course is four hours (as mandated by WorkSafe) and covers many of the safety aspects of working safely in a construction environment. For those experienced in OSH issues, a Recognition of Prior Learning (known as RPL) path has been created to enable these people to demonstrate their knowledge and fast-track the course completion.

Due to the length of the course, AVELING has taken particular care in ensuring end-users are engaged through:

  1. Voice narrations that explain the concepts and topics presented,

  2. Interactive segments that actively engage the user like identifying PPE, demonstrating understanding of how to read MSDS sheets, user self-testing of identifying the types of safety signs, and demonstration of safe handling through 3D animation.

Supporting the content is a fully featured Training Portal that enables users to sign-up, enrol, view course information, demonstrate understanding and provide payment Online.

For users who do not have the time to take the course in one sitting, the Training Portal also allows users to dip in and out of content whenever they wish and return to their bookmark when they log back in.

The course is nationally recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework by the Training Accreditation Council for 51466 Safety Awareness Training.

In addition the course is recognised by WorkSafe for attainment of the Western Australia safety awareness training card.
