AVELING is proud to announce the successful delivery of the Pilbara Iron e-learning template.
The e-learning template is developed in Adobe Flash and provides a common framework on which future Pilbara Iron e-learning refresher courses can be developed. During this project, several workshops were undertaken to capture both the business, technical and end user needs to ensure the final deliverable would be adopted successfully by the various internal stakeholders.
After several design prototypes, the client selected a simplified presentation layout that:
A key driver for this project was that the client was anticipating an upgrade to their HR system that could receive automatic reporting from SCORM compliant e-learning solutions. To prepare for this, the client wished to begin transformation of instructor-led course content into user-paced e-learning courses so they could interface with the system later in the year.
In response, AVELING worked closely with the client to both prepare for future SAP integration and improve the training completion reporting process as an interim measure until the new system was implemented. This was accomplished through the use of flash created forms that captured end user information and generated statement of completion at the end that could be signed by their supervisor and forwarded to the training department for manual data entry.
As the template does not require a back-end system, the course was able to be immediately deployed as an interim measure without relying on the new HR system yet still have the basis on which to integrate with the HR system once it is deployed.
The template is developed in Adobe Flash and designed to work on an intranet or Internet environment, or as a standalone course on a personal computer or laptop.
The project took six weeks to develop and was successfully delivered within time and budget and to the customer’s satisfaction.
