01/05/2010 Trusted WA training provider expands portfolio

AVELING, a trusted leader in induction, safety and leadership training has expanded their training portfolio to include the sought after Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104). This expansion was fuelled by the ever increasing demand for more qualified trainers and assessors in the workplace.

For the past 14 years AVELING, a Registered Training Organisation, has been trusted by their clients to provide high quality training courses, relevant to their business needs and industry trends. Research, as well as consultation with their established client base, revealed the need to offer Skill Sets for people who want to become Trainers, Assessors or both.

A feature of AVELING’s approach is the combination of key Units of Competency into programs or Skill Sets. Individual Skill Sets allow for customised Training and Assessment strategies to be designed, to suit the needs of individual organisations and industry groups.

The benefit of an individual Skill Set is that it offers a flexible pathway to obtain an accredited qualification without having to complete the full Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (14 Units of Competency). This reduces time away from the workplace, is cost effective and offers the benefit of immediate application of newly gained knowledge and skills.

Individual Skill Sets are nationally accredited and include:

  • Workplace Trainer Skill Set – a 3-day course recommended for people who train others within a workplace.
  • Workplace Assessor Skill Set – a 3-day course for people wishing to obtain the assessment competencies to assess according to organisation or AQTF2007 requirements.

Training courses at AVELING combine individual and group activities, discussion, exercises and case studies. The delivery is interactive and focused on practical skills, knowledge and effective application to the workplace, rather than theoretical lectures.

AVELING further offers a wide range of face-to-face training courses including; MARCSTA, Occupational Health and Safety Representatives, Fundamentals of Supervision, Fire Training and OHS for Supervisors. Online training courses include WA White Card Online as well as RSA Online.
